Hospitality Talents – Recruitment Agency is currently looking for an experienced and hands-on Cost Controller to join the finance team of our client, a renowned hospitality establishment in Antwerp.

This is a key operational finance role within a high-end, multi-outlet environment, where precision, structure and on-the-floor presence are essential.

The Cost Controller is a fully hands-on operational finance professional responsible for ensuring cost discipline, stock accuracy and data reliability across the operation.

Working closely with the Director of Finance, this role is physically present in the hotel’s operational areas and ensures that financial reporting is based on accurate, timely and reliable data.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Control & Stock Management

  • Monitor food, beverage and operating supply costs on a daily basis
  • Control receiving, pricing, issuing and consumption of stock
  • Organize and supervise regular stock counts
  • Investigate variances and follow up directly with department heads
  • Support margin optimisation and waste reduction initiatives

Purchasing & Receiving Controls

  • Review and control purchasing documentation and invoice matching
  • Ensure supplier pricing compliance and contract adherence
  • Supervise receiving procedures and enforce documentation accuracy
  • Strengthen purchasing discipline across departments

Reporting & Data Accuracy

  • Prepare detailed cost and inventory reports for operational departments
  • Provide practical insight on consumption trends and margin analysis
  • Ensure correct cost allocation and coding
  • Maintain accurate data flow between purchasing, inventory, POS and finance systems

Operational Partnership

  • Act as a visible and proactive partner to Heads of Department
  • Promote cost awareness and financial discipline across teams
  • Support the improvement of internal procedures and controls

Systems & Process Support

  • Assist in the implementation and daily use of procurement and inventory systems
  • Contribute to process optimisation in a growing and evolving environment
  • Proven experience as Cost Controller, Assistant Financial Controller or similar hands-on operational finance role, ideally within hospitality
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing, inventory management and stock control
  • Experience in a multi-outlet or high-end F&B environment is a strong asset
  • Detail-oriented, structured and operationally present
  • Comfortable working in environments where processes are being built or refined
  • Strong analytical mindset with practical, solution-oriented approach
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Fluency in English required; Dutch is a strong asset
